The problem we are solving
Most formative assessment tools are built for one-time tests, district benchmarks, or elaborate lesson sequences. They are powerful — and completely overkill when a teacher just wants to ask five questions before first period.
Google Forms works, but it is slow to set up, slow to share, and gives you raw response data instead of actionable insight. You have to dig through spreadsheets to figure out which three students need reteach tomorrow.

ExitFlow belongs to the Free Teacher Tools family — a small collection of genuinely free classroom tools made by teachers, for teachers.
We started Free Teacher Tools because we kept building small tools for our own classrooms, and other teachers kept asking to use them. Every app in this family follows the same promise:
- Every feature is free. No "basic" tier that locks what you need. No "pro" upgrade required for anything classroom-critical.
- No student accounts required. Students should be able to participate in seconds, on any device, without creating a login.
- No ads. No data selling. No tracking. We do not monetize your students' data. Ever.
- Donations are the only revenue. If you find ExitFlow valuable, you can donate. That is the only way this project is funded.
Your data is yours
ExitFlow collects what it needs to run your checks: your teacher account information, your class rosters, and your check content. That is all.
We will never sell your email address, your students' names, or your classroom data. We do not run analytics products on your students. We do not share data with third parties except to send password-reset and verification emails.
Student participation data is associated with a session and a class — not with any external identity. Students submitting a response are not creating a persistent profile.

Essential tools should be free

Raw response counts are not useful in the middle of class. You need to knowwho did not submit, which question tripped people up, andwhat to do next. ExitFlow surfaces that automatically.

Built on proven patterns
ExitFlow reuses the authentication and security infrastructure developed for QuizFlow — our quiz tool for classrooms. That means:
- Secure password hashing (never stored in plaintext)
- Rate limiting on all auth endpoints to prevent abuse
- One-time verification and reset codes that expire after use
- Session invalidation after password changes
- Origin checks on all authenticated requests
The auth layer has been battle-tested in QuizFlow and is now serving ExitFlow teachers with the same security guarantees.
