Acceptance of terms

By creating an account or using ExitFlow, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use ExitFlow. These terms apply to all users of ExitFlow, including teachers, students, and visitors.

What ExitFlow is

ExitFlow is a teacher-first formative assessment tool for bellringers, exit tickets, and quick classroom checks. It is provided by Free Teacher Tools ("we," "us," or "our") as a free service to educators.

ExitFlow is not a high-stakes testing platform. It is not a gradebook. It is not an LMS. We make no guarantees about the suitability of ExitFlow for any specific high-stakes or compliance-related purpose.

Teacher responsibilities

As a teacher using ExitFlow, you are responsible for:

• Maintaining the accuracy and security of your account credentials
• Ensuring you have appropriate authorization to use ExitFlow with your students
• Obtaining any necessary parental or institutional consent before collecting student responses
• Keeping your class rosters and student data secure
• Complying with any applicable school, district, or state policies regarding technology use in the classroom

You may not use ExitFlow to collect data for illegal purposes, to harass or discriminate against students, or to store sensitive regulated data (e.g., special education records, health information) beyond what is incidental to normal formative assessment use.

Student use

ExitFlow is designed for use by teachers with their students. Students participate in sessions initiated by their teacher using a session code, link, or QR code. Students are not required to create an account.

Teachers are responsible for ensuring they have appropriate authorization before having students use ExitFlow. We do not knowingly permit use of ExitFlow by students under 13 without verified teacher or institutional consent.

Content you create

You retain ownership of all content you create in ExitFlow — your questions, checks, class names, and any other materials you author. By using ExitFlow, you grant us a limited license to store, display, and process that content solely to provide the service to you.

We will never claim ownership of your teaching materials. We will never use your check content for any purpose outside of providing ExitFlow to you.

Availability

ExitFlow is provided free of charge. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the service at any time. In the event of discontinuation, we will provide reasonable notice and an opportunity to export your data.

Donations

Donations to ExitFlow are voluntary and non-refundable. Donations do not purchase any product feature, subscription, or premium access — because no such features exist. All features are and will remain free for all users regardless of donation status.

Prohibited uses

You may not use ExitFlow to:

• Collect data for illegal or discriminatory purposes
• Harass, intimidate, or humiliate students or colleagues
• Impersonate another teacher or user
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to ExitFlow or its systems
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code
• Use automated tools to scrape or mass-create accounts or sessions
• Store regulated sensitive data (e.g., medical records, special education data) without proper authorization

Disclaimer

ExitFlow is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that ExitFlow will meet your specific requirements, that it will be error-free, or that results generated by the app are free from error. You use ExitFlow at your own discretion and risk.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Free Teacher Tools and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of ExitFlow. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you have donated to ExitFlow in the prior 12 months (or zero if no donations were made).

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of ExitFlow after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
